Our previous flood certification provider was not able to show the home to be out of the flood zone A although the home was clearly located on a hill or knoll within the property. The second situation involved a mobile home located within a mobile home park that is situated next to a large lake.Both situations were handled by on-site visits. That was great and it saved one of my customers $800 in flood insurance premium. That's a good way to make a happy customer.

The FCI staff is great to work with! Their web site is easy to use and response times for flood determinations are very good. Unlike other service providers, if a structure is questionable as to its location near a flood area, they will personally visit the site to make accurate determinations. They are also a knowledgeable resource for us when we have questions about other requirements of the flood regulations and provide our customers with a helpful packet of information when a property is determined to be in a special flood hazard area.

Examiners just reviewed several of our Zone A loans and commented on how they liked the documentation provided by Floodplain Consultants....and they mentioned they are seeing more and more Illinois lenders using Floodplain Consultants.
